Mark PedigoPURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT?Under the direction of the Marketing Manager, generates profitable sales in the assigned territory through target marketing, competitive analysis, and providing value-added agronomic products, services and recommendations. Responsible for sales of all seeds, within an assigned territory, working closely with the Sales Manager and Sales Specialists for the purpose of cross-selling to customers. This is a 12 month out of the year marketing position?ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS??Initiates sales calls with targeted growers to promote FS supported seed brands, crop protection products, plant food, and MiField Applied Research.?Develops and implements targeted grower sales strategies and programs on identified key accounts that generate profitable sales in the assigned territory.?Utilizes target marketing and professional sales techniques including the FS sales interview road map to develop and present whole farm proposals and cropping solutions with targeted accounts.?Promotes and supports implementation of side by sides, advancement trials, product placement trials, On-Farm Discovery projects.?Ensures the credit worthiness of customers, follows AG-LAND pricing and credit terms. Works closely with the credit department in collection of accounts receivable.?Provides leadership for the development and /or implementation of all seed training and seed support needs that generates profitable sales.?Works directly with Crop Specialists in planning seed plots and contents of plots.?Creates and manages a whole farm proposal by providing value-added seed products, services, and recommendations on a frequent basis.?Maintains a current knowledge of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends.?Ensures field signs are displayed on customer?s fields.?Provides customer service by using soil testing, crop scouting and other programs, follows up on customer complaints, and seeks a reasonable ?win/win? resolution.?Maintains industry and university contacts to keep informed on developing trends and product introductions in assigned product areas.?Creates and participates in selected sales activities, i.e. customer meetings, trade shows, sales meeting, to keep abreast of sales trends and sales environment.?Completes all reports as required.?Responsible for maintaining the assigned vehicle according to company standards.?Performs all other duties as assigned.?REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS?Normally requires the Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) designation or the ability to obtain one within one year.?Must have and maintain a valid driver?s license and satisfactory driving record.?Must be able to travel independently and overnight.?Must be willing to work hours beyond those considered ?normal??Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on AG-LAND?s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.Apply for this job.
