The Salt group has a #Bold2025 strategy that calls for ?going beyond salt?. This implies, strengthening the core, extending the core and going beyond our current business model. The core businesses are organized into Water Quality, Road Safety and Food. To realize this ambitious strategy the group is standing up a Growth Ventures business, that will lead core capabilities of marketing, pricing, strategy, business development, portfolio management, and lead creation of an innovation model, bring the innovation to market & creating new businesses.?Market Insights lead position is a new and central position to executing on the above strategy and is part of the growth ventures business. It is responsible for building and executing on a market insights strategy. The market insights strategy roadmap would likely include aspects of open innovation, design thinking, data mining and secondary research. Market insights goals are to a) Discover market unmet needs and trends, b) Validate product features with customers and c) build an innovation mindset and culture in the businesses. As we build this capability, the position will help us determine where we start and what will our ambition be (e.g. what does world class looks like).?The position is designed to work with a lean mindset and work across the businesses, leveraging resources from sales, product line management, supply chain, finance as well as from within Growth Ventures business.This position is looking for someone who has market insights expertise and is excited about building a practice in a new setting.In the initial few months?Build market insights vision, strategy and a roadmap (50%)Set millstones to the vision, evangelize and get buy-in from key leadersHelp develop an insights/idea management process along with other Growth Ventures membersBuild and activate a minimum viable process (workshops, collaborations, existing ideas, new studies, etc.)Run hackathons as needed?Quick wins (20%)Partner with the right stakeholders and get the organization to invest in ideas that lead us to fulfilling our strategy?Support existing projects with insights (10%)By conducting customer studies, if neededBy data/secondary research, if needed?Training program (20%)Build awareness around Market Insights processTrain key stake holders on their role in Market Insights process?Stable-state (Continue leading the organization along the designed roadmap)?Build and manage a pipeline of insights (50%)Design projects based on hypothesis, Product development stage and for open market questionsExecute on the projects and share analysis and insights with the Innovation team/other stakeholdersEnsure key insights are followed up and the right development projects are being under takenBe part of the product/service development teams in executing the projects all the way to commercialization?Discern and build new and creative research capabilities that the group needs to bring in-house (15%)?Work with external vendors in various studies VOC, Focus groups, customer research, competitor research (10%)?Work with internal vendors on data and communication related needs for market insights work (10%)?Collaborate across businesses (Water Quality, Road Safety & Food) and train key individuals and teams on market insights processes (15%)#LI-JK1Skills:
RequiredBachelor?s degree with demonstrated superior academic achievement.5+ years? experience working in market insights with a combination of one or more of the following: human center of design concepts, innovation, new products, solutions and services (NPSS), marketingAbility to design and conduct focus groups, VOC studies, hackathons, etc.Commercial acumen and strategic foresightPassion for building something new and ability to deal with the initial stage ambiguityAbility to zoom-in (get hands dirty)/zoom-out (create strategic discussions) as neededAble to incorporate the utilization of technology in the market insights roadmapEffective interpersonal, collaboration and influencing skillsA quick learnerAbility to Travel up to 10%.
