Come position yourself with an innovative industry leader and position yourself for success.Strategic Marketing Director (Precision Agriculture)Job Summary:The Marketing Director is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans for the Agriculture Division. The strategic marketing plan will define the markets and adjacencies (other ag value chain and AgTech players such as commodities, processors, retailers, transportation/logistics and emerging markets, etc.) available to us now and in the future that will facilitate our ability to grow. This plan will clearly define the markets, current and future competition, the partnerships required and the solutions needed to win both in the short and long term. This position will have direct responsibility for our general marketing, business development, overall market messaging, driving product positioning and pricing strategy, go-to-market plans, engineering priorities, the identification of new market opportunities and the respective business plans for them. Additionally, Marketing will work with the General Manager of the Ag Division to set the strategy and overall priorities for the division and work to communicate these internally and externally with Dealers, the industry and media. This role requires a high degree of collaboration across organization and functional boundaries. The role is a leadership position working within a highly matrixed organization. The Marketing Director reports directly to the Division General Manager.Key Responsibilities: Lead marketing team in core marketing activities surrounding: definition of target customers, respective needs and customer value-add considerations, market trends, competitive landscape, division and product value propositionDevelop go-to-market plans and priorities for new products and new technologies, spanning multiple vertical markets within AGWork with the Ag Leadership team to drive and support the Ag product roadmap of desired Ag products, information/decision support tools, new technologies and partnershipsWork with the Product Portfolio team to define multi-year product roadmapsWork with Engineering to establish priorities within budget, determines highest market impact which aligns with overall business strategyPerform continuous product rationalization; aligning existing, new and future technologies and products, always incorporating regional and local input and considerationsPropose new development/acquisition projects, delivering to overall business strategy and objectivesDevelop both regional and global go-to-market plans and strategies, encouraging and utilizing input from regional business development managersWork closely with sales and channel management, contributing to development of optimal channel strategyEstablish global and overall divisional pricing strategy, allowing for strong regional/localized pricing flexibility; pricing strategies to include considerations for all divisions/vertical market strategies and positionsUnderstand competitive offerings, identify weaknesses and educate divisional staff regarding strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks associated with competitive positions. Contribute to the development of competitive strategiesWork closely with the Ag Leadership team and Marketing Communications developing the internal and external market message; provide feedback and input into development of marketing collateral and material and collaborate on methods to solicit ongoing market feedbackEstablished peer relationships with key players in the Agriculture marketAbility to influence elected officials, regulators, trade associations, universities that have some role in Ag information/decision supportSkills & Experience Required:University degree required; preferred in Marketing, Agriculture, Geomatics or related field, MBA preferred5+ years of progressively increasing experience in marketing management within the Agriculture industry, plus at least 2 years in marketing as an individual contributorSales experience a strong plusAbility to look at a complex industry and break it into clear definable steps that naturally drive focused plansAbility to breakdown complex problems into addressable steps that facilitate multiple paths to a solutionKnowledge/experience in formulating financial business plansAbility to data analyze complex marketsDemonstrated knowledge of technology hardware and software marketsHigh energy doer who has a strong record of executing within large matrixed organization and who has demonstrated experience as a builder or change agent within marketing Trimble is transforming the way the world works by delivering products and services that connect the physical and digital worlds.
