Mechanic II – $2,500 Sign-on Bonus
DuPont Nutrition & Health is seeking multiple Mechanics to join our Memphis, TN team! You will work in a high performance, fast paced, industrial production environment. Rotating shift work, as well as weekends and holidays, are required.$2,500 Sign-on Bonus This position normally works an eight (8) hour shift; however other shifts schedules may be required as business needs dictate. Employees in positions at this level support achievement of plant objectives through maintaining manufacturing or packaging equipment at required operating levels by adjusting or replacing parts as necessary to facilitate the repair and/or changeover of equipment to manufacture or package various products. Also maintain manufacturing and/or packaging equipment at required operating levels, through the performance of preventative/predictive maintenance and major overhauls in order to meet departmental production standards on equipment. Travel and relocation assistance are not offered for this position. Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Install and align new equipmentGather/process data from multiple sources related to electrical/mechanical failuresService, troubleshoot and repair any problem of any electrical/mechanical naturePerform preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment as assignedUtilize SAP to search for spare part locationWork with outside vendors to troubleshoot/diagnose/correct equipment problemsTroubleshoot and maintain PLCs and VSDsInstall /align pump coupling and v-belts, install bearings, install/connect motors/starterMaintain/replace/rebuild process/utility equipment (C-30 Drive spindle, Grinder UT 62 spindle, Labour pumps, etc)Plan/assemble/install/maintain/troubleshoot/repair electrical fixtures and wiringTest/repair fire alarm systems, water and gas distribution, fuel oil, cooling tower and compressed air systemsRemove and replace electric motor heaters and remove and install centrifugesChange and clean air conditioner coils and filtersMeasure vibrations and perform typical soldering, acetylene cutting and welding of an advanced naturePerform pipe fitting layout, installation and repair workPack steam valves and install pump packingRemove and replace valves and inspect/troubleshoot pump systemsInspect and replace hoses, blowout panelsUse basic hand and power tools and shop equipment competentlyPerform preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment as assignedTroubleshoot mechanical failures repair mechanical failuresGather and process data from multiple sources related to electrical failuresVerify job is complete and machine made whole before turn overExecute assigned work orders and accept a minimum of 60% of call-insContinuously build a body of technical knowledge to master new skillWork with outside vendors to troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct equipment problemsPerform PLC 2 and 5 programmingAnalysis and/or troubleshooting using Allen-Bradley T-3, T-50, T-47 shop computerTest and repair fire alarm systems, water distribution, fuel oil, gas distribution, cooling tower, and compressed air systemsQualifications:Minimum qualifications for this position include:High School diploma or GED equivalentApplicant must attain a Work KEY skills test score of 29 or higherMust attain a Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test (BMCT) test score of 48 or higher5 years or more experience in industrial maintenance, trade schools, technical institutes or equivalent.Working knowledge of pumps, conveyors, pipe fitting, welding, and motor controlled circuitsAbility to wear job specific personal protective equipment (PPE)Ability to operate computers and other computerized control systemsAbility to tolerate exposure to hot and cold conditionsAbility to work independently and as a member of a team as requiredAbility to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodationsApply for this job.
