Mechanical Engineer Intern (St. Louis) – #01S3O
We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer Intern. This position will be in St. Louis, MO, reporting to our Operations and Maintenance Manager. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work with a team to provide mechanical engineering designs for capital projects. Project deliverables generally include review of equipment and material estimates, equipment and piping specifications, equipment and material purchase requisitions, construction bid packages, and on-site checkout of equipment and facilities. This role will also provide analysis of current utility consumption requirements to confirm capacities and recommend upgrade requirements to meet future capacities. This summer internship will take place May-August of 2019. Key Responsibilities:Preparing project mechanical specifications and summaries for front end design packagesWorking with the mechanical designer to develop project drawings for equipment and piping layoutsReviewing equipment vendor drawings and supporting constructionSupporting engineers in the development of mechanical equipment specificationsSupporting the development of construction drawings and specificationsSupporting project checkout and startupEvaluating plant utility requirements to determine upgrade requirementsQualifications:Required Skills/Experiences:Pursuing a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldGeneral mechanical aptitudeStrong written and oral communication skillsGood problem solving skillsHigh degree of personal initiativeExcellent organization and planning skillsAbility to work well on a team and in a diverse environmentExperience using standard office productivity software; Excel, Word, PowerPointBayer successfully completed the acquisition of Monsanto in June 2018, bringing together Monsanto???s leadership in seeds and plant traits with Bayer???s leadership in chemical and biological crop protection.
