Position Summary: Reporting to the Commercial Manager of the location (or General Manager), this is an intermediate level position which is part of the merchandising team for the location. The position, acting as part of the team, will be primarily responsible for the procurement of soybeans and/or secondarily marketing of finished products to achieve optimum financial results. The position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with accounts, including the handling of logistics, accounting, and other customer related issues. As an intermediate member of the merchandising team, this position requires a higher level of strategic thinking, market knowledge and employee development than an entry-level position.KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

Soybean procurement from commercials and farmers throughout trading area, on both a FOB and Delivered Basis Soybean byproduct sales throughout trading area, on both a FOB and Delivered basis primarily to feed mills throughout the U.S and Canada.Work with other ADM soybean plants to maximize arbitrage opportunities on byproduct sales.Actively builds strong relationships with customers and vendors. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast-paced work environment.Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions. Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the domestic & international trade. Proven ability to manage effectively within a team based work environment.Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers. Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database, and word processing software. Applications within a windows based operating environment. Individual must be committed to corporate ethics policies & safety programs. Agris experience a plus, 3-5 years? experience in the grain business or related field.
