Quincy, ILADM Animal Nutrition, a division of Archer Daniels Midland Company, is a leading manufacturing, nutrition and ingredient business offering a wide range of innovative products for the animal nutrition market. We are currently seeking a North American Micro Ingredient Merchandiser at our Quincy, IL office. This position will buy and deliver micro ingredients in the most efficient and cost effective manner to all facilities for manufacture and further distribution. Detailed responsibilities for this position include: Monitor daily inventory reports to determine adequate, accurate and cost current ingredient inventories.Perform consumption analysis and utilize information to identify changes in needs and adjust supply accordingly to stay current with all changes in production.Issue Purchase Orders to vendors based on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly needs.Troubleshoot AP issues with shared services to resolve payment issues for vendors, as well communicate vendor changes and updates to shared services.Initiate process for all new ingredient needs: vendor approval, product approval, internal product set up, formulations/pricing needs, and regulatory/compliance needs.Work to continually improve business process and drive efficiencies into the business by optimizing key metrics (e.g. days of sale, working capital, and inventory turns, etc.).Work closely with:Relevant vendors to determine supply, pricing, terms, requirements, changes, issues, quality concerns, delivery and any other needs of all micro ingredients.Plant managers to understand manufacturing requirements and priorities.Logistics teams and third party logistics companies to arrange freight.Sales, customer service, formulations and pricing teams on all pricing, ingredient changes, new ingredient set up and changes in supply needs.Other ADM divisions/departments to maximize inter-divisional ingredient opportunities and needs to create value for ADM shareholders. Requirements for this position include: Bachelor?s degree in Agriculture or Business with a minimum of 2+ years of animal feed sales or purchasing experience and a demonstrable track record of achieving results with the ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationshipsAn ability to prioritize tasks in order to maximize profit potential, exercise sound decision making, and be a demonstrated change agent with strong credibility with the ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced, dynamic and uncertain business environment.Computer proficiency in Oracle, IBM, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access. Ability to travel overnight on occasion.
