Position Summary: This Messenger position is assigned primary responsibility of delivering mail and/or packages throughout ADM locations and around the city.
Physical RequirementsMust be able to stand, walk, and work as necessary to function effectively in a mail center environment including but not limited to walking long distances, climbing stairs, bending and lifting heavy loads up to 50 pounds. Will walk 80% of the day.Must be able to hear and speak clearly in order to effectively communicate with others. Must be able to perform in a stressful environment.Must have the ability to get in and out of vehicle all day.Must be able to work and adapt in all kinds of weather. Heat, Cold, Ice, etc. Minimum QualificationsMust successfully pass the Company background investigation.Must be able to possess a valid driver?s license or be able to lawfully operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to read, comprehend, and communicate, orally and in writing Critical and Essential Job Functions Must be able to safely operate and maintain a company vehicle, including but not limited to records of mileage, repairs and maintenance. Must be able to pick-up and deliver incoming and outgoing mail/packages multiple times a day. Must be able to keep accurate records of all pick-ups and deliveries. Will be required to use new Track Pad System for delivering and learn any software updates.Must be able to learn location of all Decatur ADM departments and facilities.Must be able to successfully pass all safety and lifting classes, as well as haz-mat classes and adhere to all guidelines. Other Duties and ResponsibilitiesMay be required to make routine messenger runs throughout ADM facilities and around the city. May be required to perform special messenger pick-ups and/or deliveries.
May be required to cover other messenger routes as needed for vacations, illness, etc.May be required to provide coverage as needed in other areas of administrative services, including but not limited to answering phones, delivering packages, and taking messenger requests.May be required to assist in processing express invoicesTechnical ProficienciesMust be able to operate motor vehicle.Must be able to stay in constant radio communication with dispatcher.
