In addition, Zoetis will never ask candidates to make any type of personal financial investment related to gaining employment with Zoetis.Job Requirements:Reporting to the Laboratory Instrument Support (LIS) Manager, the Metrology Lab Manager is responsible for keeping the Research laboratory instrumentation serving cGxP (current Good X Practice) customers in compliance with all applicable regulations. Plans and coordinates with end users, and outside vendors for all calibration activities. Acts as a QA approver and contributor for all cGxP related documentation produced by LIS and Metrology ensuring work is accurate, compliant and meets customer expectations. Active participant in internal and external audits of cGxP systems, and follows through with the appropriate personnel to resolve any discrepancies. Responsible for approving and signing off calibration documentation relating to cGxP equipment to ensure it meets with applicable regulatory requirements. Identifies and manages all metrology reference standards for VMRD. Provides guidance and assistance with writing and reviewing administrative and technical SOPs relating to LIS and Metrology, ensuring end user requirements are met while maintaining the traceability and accuracy of all instruments utilizing a validated CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Supports the LIS team as needed, may direct contract calibration vendors and contract staff as required. Technical Competencies:Compliance- Has an advanced working knowledge of the validation and regulatory compliance guidelines as applied to metrology and scientific / pharmaceutical analytical and other laboratory equipment. Has a working knowledge of implementing and managing change control procedures. Experience writing and reviewing SOPs, primarily for compliance, metrology, instrument maintenance and instrument calibration. Familiarity with CMMS metrology systems such as SAP or Blue Mountain.Partnership- Continuously communicates with VMRD compliance and LIS groups to ensure the metrology program is meeting specifications and to strategize to meet new needs and address any challenges within metrology/calibration. Communicates with key customers to understand their requirements to internal as well as external accrediting bodies while driving improvements to maintenance activities and processes. Training and Education:Bachelor”s Degree from accredited Institution in Electronic Engineering or appropriate technical discipline, advanced metrology/calibration training and certifications or previous military PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) experience. Experience: Minimum 5+ years” experience in a metrology, calibration or validation function within a research/regulatory environment, including metrology program management. Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical validation processes, current regulatory expectations and regulations related to the calibration of equipment and instrumentation. Experience should include calibration support of a wide range of measurement and test equipment, laboratory instrumentation and systems such as reference standards, PCR”s, check weights and micro balances as applied to a cGxP scientific/pharmaceutical environment.Apply for this job.
