Mgr Operations – Night Shift
SUMMARY: Maintain daily surveillance of overall operations; oversee performance of all facets of the plant. This position is responsible for all operations of the Pork Cut floor, Harvest floor, Converting, Rendering and Load areas including and not limited to quality yields, Safety, HACCP and Training.
The individual in the position must work closely with the management team in achieving the following: performance improvements in all areas of production; must be a team player and be able to work various hours. In addition will be responsible for monitoring product yields and general efficiencies of all departments. Increase plant profitability and demonstrate an active effort to improve efficiency. Maintain awareness of all local community relations. Provide input for corporate Fresh Meats divisions as requested and directed by the group Vice President of Fresh Meats.REQUIREMENTS:Education: High School diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.Experience: Minimum of 6 years business experience with 2 years at the superintendent level or above
in the pork industry preferred; must have general knowledge of production operations and techniques; food safety; product yields; USDA regulations. Past experience in plant operations and food inspections a plus.Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills a must.Travel: Less than 10%Supervisory Responsibilities: The position will assist the Plant Manager in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the pork slaughter/processing plant, which includes all managers, supervisors + production Team Members and carry out managerial/supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. Special Skills: Extensive knowledge of operations in a large scale fresh pork slaughter and processing operation to include boning operations.
