Mgr Plant – Human Resources
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative, technical, and professional work in administering and managing plant personnel functions including compensation, recruitment, selection, benefits counseling,and heavy emphasis on labor relations and safety. Specific responsibilities include overseeing the recordkeeping of insurance coverage, pension plan, and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, andterminations; preparing reports such as turnover percentages, affirmative action reports, and personnel activity reports; monitoring adherence to EEO and ADA employment/labor laws; developing curriculum and conducting training for supervisors and crew relating to Team Member relations and employment policies; monitoring all disciplinary actions taken to ensure they are consistent and fair; attending and participating in community functions as a Tyson representative; workingwith attorneys in all plant related legal activities, and performing other responsibilities as they arise. Safety responsibilities will include training, reporting, and compliance requirements. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree orequivalent experience. PHR or SPHR certification preferred. Experience: 3 + years HR experience. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; for example, generating simple letters, spreadsheets, and creating simple queries. Experience with SAPand HRS preferred. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising HR clerical staff as well as the training department staff.
