Overall responsibility for the mill.
Maximize the capacity and efficiency of the mill while ensuring product quality. Investigates the means by which milling procedures can be improved, and initiates improvements in the efficiency of the department operations Expected to set a model safety example by following and enforcing all safety practices including looking for, reporting, and correcting safety hazards and poor practices during daily rounds of the plant. Ensures that the quality level of company products is maintained.
Champion of quality programs and adherence to HACCP program and FSMA regulations.
Maintain sanitation of the mill at a level that meets the requirements of food safety standards. Researches & makes recommendations regarding process improvements or modification that might improve design, quality, reliability, safety, and reduce manufacturing costs
Initiates projects to improve milling performance, i.e. energy reduction, efficiency, cost reduction, and follow through on completion of these improvement projects Maintains a strong sense of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement
Provides leadership and mentoring for colleague development including training, technical support, mentoring and periodic performance feedback Job Requirements:
Experience leading teamsAbility to climb stairs, prolonged periods of standing and sitting, computer work, meeting deadlines, providing calculated information, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, working adjusted hours, and working as instructed. Prompt attendanceAvailable on call for any situations arising 24 hours a day.
5+ years of milling experienceExperience in Agricultural Processing is preferredDemonstrated participation and leadership in plant safety programs and process hazard analysisDemonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage personnel, schedules, and other resources.
