What You'll Be Doing – We are seeking a professional to join our Hartwell Staff to manage the Mining and Mica Separation Process. As part of the Hartwell Leadership Team, you will have responsibility and be accountable for The Mica Separation Plant and the associated Mining activities. This includes: Direct supervision of the Mica Separation Plant and plant operators, land acquisition, mine planning, permitting, coordination of contract mining activities and reclamation.
Additionally, you will be the site primary contact for EHS activities and ensure the site is compliant with state and federal environmental permits, BASF procedures and MSHA Part 48 standards. You will participate in Safety Step reviews, develop Standard Operating Procedures and Management of Change documents. In addition, you will support audits of various types including safety and environmental.Leveraging your education in a technical discipline and your experience in mining and mineral processing, you will work closely with engineering, production operators and various support personnel to optimize the Mining and Mica Separation Process at the Hartwell site.Demonstrating your computer proficiency, including experience using SAP function, you will maintain inventory, production volumes, and various shipping of raw materials.Driving strategic decisions for mine planning and land management, your self-directed working style will be a valued asset to deliver a sustainable mining operation. Your strong financial acumen will be a valued asset as you manage mining costs including budgeting and cost center management. Successfully engaging across the site, you will support operations on departmental Key Performance Indicators. Your proven ability to identify problems and opportunities in related areas and define, structure, plan, and implement improvement projects to satisfy site, business group, and corporate objectives will be key as you troubleshoot and support production issues. Working collaboratively, you will perform procurement activities as required, including preparing specifications, issuing requisitions, and evaluating bids. You will also work with Procurement and comply with applicable guidelines.Demonstrating your excellent written and oral communication skills and computer aptitude, you will lead and participate in safety reviews, management of change documents and standard operating procedures. As the site EHS primary contact, your dedication to a safe working environment will be critical as you support the safe, reliable performance of duties by ensuring that units/departments comply with Site, Corporate policies and procedures. Your networking skills will be evident as you help others to support the area's required training activities, including the ability to encourage, and improve the level of engagement within their team.
