Monsanto Fund Scholar (Part Time)The Monsanto Fund is the philanthropic arm of Monsanto Company. Annually, the Monsanto Fund awards $23M to non-profit organizations around the globe.A six member board comprised of senior Monsanto Company executives provides governance oversight and actively participates in the development of giving strategy and policies. The Fund team is responsible for strategy development, financial management, program development, and implementation. This includes oversight of grant programs in the headquarter community of St. Louis, U.S. programs such as America???s Farmer???s Grow Communities, America???s Farmers Grow Rural Education, America???s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders, Matching Gifts program, U.S. site-based grant making, and International community giving. The team oversees the gifting of in-kind resources, responds to requests for disaster assistance, and provides strategic oversight of company contributions and employee volunteer programs. For more information about the Monsanto Fund visit www.monsantofund.org.PositionThe Fund seeks a detail-oriented, organized person with the inherent ability to multi-task and who is at ease working with budgets and database systems to ensure that the large volume of grants are in compliance with program guidelines as well as regulatory rules governing the foundation???s giving. This is a part time (20 hours per week), temporary position for up to one year. The Monsanto Fund Scholar responds to internal and external stakeholders seeking information about Monsanto Fund programs and provides technical assistance to prospective grantees in the use of the grants management system. Post grant submission, the Scholar ensures that all applications are complete (domestic and international), are ready for review, prepares grant agreements, grant award notifications, declinations, assists organizations with budget revisions, and provides technical assistance in submission of impact reports. The Scholar tracks receipt of grant agreements and impact reports to facilitate timely payments, time extensions, and or budget revisions. For the America???s Farmers Grow Communities program, this person will assist with verification of eligibility for over 1,300 grants. For America???s Farmers Grow Rural Education, this person will assist with the management of the 1,000 plus applications to ensure no duplications, assigns applications for review by teachers and farmers, and handles grant notifications and declinations.The Scholar will work closely with all Monsanto Fund staff members to learn these systems and responsibilities. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor???s Degree program or a recent graduate who is able to work part time ?? Understanding of project management ??
