Were adding to our National Dairy Sales Team! This position will focus in the western territory (primary focus in California). In this role, you will be responsible for assisting large dairy producers (5,000 + cow dairies) in improving production capabilities and profits through sales of feed components & programs. The role responsibilities include:- Developing strategies to Increase the market share and impact of proprietary technology and products. – Provide a high level of technical production service to customers. – Monitor and document production and profitability improvements for producers implementing program and product recommendations. – Provide tracking reports on marketing and service activities as management requires and maintain up to date and accurate client history records. – Maintain a high level of proficiency and competency in nutrition, production management, and selling skills through recommended training and verified by documented sales results. – Continued personal development and skills training required. Attendance of minimum of 1 scientific conference and minimum 2 industry sponsored conferences highly encouraged. – Demonstrated strategic and tactical planning skills necessary to provide solutions based selling of value add technologies. – Ability to work and produce independently while contributing and participating in a team oriented environment needed. – Performs other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or requested.
– BS degree required; preferably in related field – MS, PhD, DVM degrees strongly desired
– 5+ years experience in dairy production- young animal growth to adult cow performance required
– Previous sales/consulting experience required –
Requires daily travel in an assigned geography (up to 30% overnight)
– Must be able to lift and carry 50 lb. bags of feed as needed
– Demonstrated computer skills
