Role purpose
To be responsible for leading a consistent and proactive approach to the management of compliance and risks within the region, ensuring compliance and risk policies are understood, compliance to risk controls monitored and mitigation strategies are in place to manage those risks.Support to interpret and help prioritize vulnerabilities and trends in order to support the region to make informed decisions.Contribute to establishing with the P&S and Global Compliance and Risk Teams best practice standards, risk management methodologies and tools to identify, describe and estimate the quantitative and qualitative compliance and/or risks affecting the businessLead the development of risk management capabilities in the region through the use of different techniques to ensure sustainable excellence in the management of risksBe proactive through networking to aid organizational learning of new and innovative thinking around production and supply chain threats, compliance issues and risk management within Syngenta.To ensure that effective co-ordination and alignment is done between the region and Global Production & Supply hierarchy, HSE, Quality, CRM (ERM) and Security
Accountabilities
Drive and support the P&S Risk process in the region, providing and supporting regular inputs to leadership teams and/or Regional Commercial compliance and risk management reviews as appropriate and providing support to leaders in the implementation of compliance controls and risk managementManage and support the production and timely delivery of risk management reports (flash reports and KPIs) and compliance and/or risk escalation and use the reports to lead and educate leaders to understand the most significant production & supply compliance and risks, aligned with the P&S Leadership Reviews.Adopt and deploy Global CRM methodologies and training, including the use of the Risk Management Information System (RMIS)Provide support, education and training to staff and leaders on P&S risk management process.Monitor, evaluate/challenge and assist as appropriate in the resolution of identified compliance issues and/or risks (in a Business Partnering capacity) to the regions success in managing its compliance and risks.Enable best-practice sharing within and across the region to ensure compliance and risk response is both consistent and progressive.Carry out reviews of adequacy of risk controls and risk mitigation/treatment to satisfy the business that key controls have been implemented and are being maintained, capturing and escalating any significant changes that may affect the business.Skills:

Ability to facilitate/catalyse workshops or meetingsStrong ability to think and act independently, to influence in the face of potential opposition and to be confident to consult different levels of stakeholders with Compliance and Risk Management IssueAbility to work in a matrix organization and in a multicultural/multi lingual environment
Critical experience
Min 3-5 years experience in Risk Management in any of the following areas: Supply Chain, HSEQ, Research & Development, Manufacturing, Processing, Marketing, Planning, Purchasing or Customer ServicesExperience in leadership in driving change and continuous improvementExperience in working with Cross Functional Teams
Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities
Knowledge and experience of applying Compliance and Risk Management into business cyclesBachelor degree or equivalent in either Business Management, Engineering, SciencesUnderstanding of ISO or equivalent in Risk ManagementUnderstanding of Supply Chain ProcessesKnowledge and experience in Agrochemical / Pharmaceutical and/or Seeds industry preferred Fluent in English Oral, Read, Written

Demonstrate, document and provide assurance to stakeholders that the region has an effective risk management framework which is in line with the standard P&S Risk Methodologies enabling the focus to move from Risk Reporting to Risk ManagementManaging P&S Risk Management Projects and delivering on time with high stakeholder satisfactionUnderstanding the details of Key risks for both Crop Protection and Seeds that challenge Production and Supply ChainTo help embed compliance and risk management into the culture of the Region so that it is inherent in every decision they make.
