Northwest Division Agronomist
Job Description:The Northwest Division Agronomist is the liaison between agronomic concerns and Crop Consultants. This position is responsible for servicing the North/South areas of the Northwest Division. The agronomist provides assistance to the Crop Consultant's within the division identifying field pests, providing nutrient recommendations, and concerns present in the industry. The agronomist must have strong communication skills to speak in relatable terms toCrop Consultant'sand customers alike. The Agronomist works closely to the Area Manager's and Divisional Manager to identify products, or personnel which require focus, and maintains industry and supplier relationships to be at the forefront of products and technologies. The Agronomist also conducts field demos, hosts a yearly Agronomy meeting, and is available for Crop Consultant support at all times. The position could be operated out of either Reardan, WA or the Tri Cities area.Job Duties:- Provides sales rep. agronomictraining- Initiates demos that will support marketing efforts- Interprets soil, tissue, and water analysis- Researches and responds to technical inquiries- Develops proprietary fertilizer formulations- Publishes and distributes periodic summaries of agronomic observations and research- Product development trials
conducting replicated and strip trials to support division sales- Products include: Proprietary products forwheat/corn/alfalfa/canola varieties- Crop protection products- Candidate must be willing to physically assist in implementing, maintaining, and harvesting and evaluating research/demonstration trials.- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions- Knowledge of research protocol- Serve as a technical sales resource for Crop Consultants on grower calls- Identify specific nutritional needs and opportunities coming from the field- Other duties as assignedJob Requirements:- Demonstrated supervisory experience in vocational agricultural or a combination of education and work experience- Agricultural based degree desired- CCA license or ability to test on obtain CCA- Excellent communication skills- Valid driver's license is required- Overnight travel and long seasonal hours are a necessity. Candidate must be willing to travel 45-60 nights a year.
