Nursery Characterization Intern – #01RWK

 Monsanto Hawaii has an opening with their breeding program on the island of Maui.  This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in pursuing a career in agriculture, biology, ecology, process engineering, data science and analytics, entomology, or any other related science disciplines in a leading agricultural company.   From your first day as an intern, you will be a contributing member of the Monsanto Hawaii team with meaningful responsibilities, which will provide you with a realistic look at a future career with Monsanto.  You will gain valuable experience as well as developmental feedback along the way.   The intern will develop digital solutions to connect data across multiple sources to capture and visualize all relevant information associated with the field nursery operations. The characterization will include environmental/weather, field management, nursery operations, insect, weed, and disease pressure, and harvest and post-harvest operations. The intern will partner with full-time staff in project development and then complete and present to their peers, management and staff.   This summer internship will be held May-August of 2019. Key Components of the Project Use data management and data science skills to connect information across multiple systemsLeverage internal data visualization platforms to enable real-time management decisionsCreate a platform for automated reporting of holistic summarization of nurseries and fieldsQualifications:Required QualificationsAbility to commit to a 3-month period (~12 weeks) during between May ??? SeptemberCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited US based institution with plans to return to your program following the assignmentGPA of 3.0 or aboveDetail and results oriented with the ability to work in a team based environmentAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of the organizationDemonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills Completed course work or experience in data management and data visualizationValid driver???s license
