Nursery Technician – Swine
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Assist in maintaining herd health by observing pigs each day and provide appropriate treatment based on individual pigs needs.Help receive, sort, and size pigs.Power washing and disinfecting rooms/buildings in-between groups.Assist in unloading weaned pigs and loading of feeder pigs.Assist in moving excess feed from room to room, or group to group.Assist with maintenance to include: mowing lawn, painting, cleaning of shop, office/employee commons area, site and laundry.Assist in feeding new weaned pigs.Vaccinate feeder pigs.Tear down and set up rooms including emptying feeders, putting mats down, setting feeders backup, hanging heat lamps, and pulling mats out of pens as needed. Required Knowledge and Skills:Position requires individual must be self-motivated and has the willingness to learn the required skills to assist in the production of a quality feeder pig. Personnel Requirements:Individual must be trustworthy, dependable, reliable and a team player. Must have ability to fulfill requirements directed by managers. Certifications:If not presently PQA/TQA certified, we will in assist in gaining certification. Salary negotiable, depending upon experience and knowledge.Apply for this job.
