Culture at Nutrien is the core of everything we do and all employees are respectful of diverse opinions and views.Reporting to the Sr. Supervisor, Operations Accounting Retail, the Nutrien Financial Operations Accountant will be a member of a dynamic cross-functional team whose primary responsibilities includes accounting, analysis, and reporting for the Nutrien Financial (“NF”) business segment. This role supports the accurate and timely reporting of the financial results for the US finance programs, along with ongoing data analysis for those that utilize the finance program offers.Key Tasks:Perform monthly accounting responsibilities for certain Nutrien Financial, North American Retail, financing programsAnalyze and report on large amounts of data compiled from multiple sources for further review and analysis by other members of the NF teamProduce specific, customized reports for both internal customers and senior management upon requestPerform monthly reconciliations of Finance Program balance sheet accounts. (Example: deferred revenue and accounts receivable) Assist in developing solutions to resolve accounting discrepanciesCollaborate on the development of monthly accounting processes for new Finance Programs to support the growth of NFEnsure new and established accounting processes adhere to current GAAP and IFRS standardsPartner with key stakeholders to ensure information flow is efficient and operations accounting policies, processes and procedures associated with retail customer financing programs are developed and followedParticipate in various projects as requiredApproximately 5% travel may be requiredSkills:Ability to prioritize tasks with competing deadlines and display a sense of urgency around month end deadlinesAbility to adapt to new processes and system solutions, to best support our growing business segment Excellent customer service skillsMature attitude and ability to deal effectively in a team environment, exhibiting strong business ethicsStrong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral and listening)Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting or financeMinimum 3 years relevant business experience Knowledge of GAAP and IFRSDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) with a focus on intermediate Excel skills, experience with Power BI is considered an assetNutrien is committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
