Occupational Health Nurse
This position must observe and assess the worker's health status with respect to job tasks and hazards. Using their specialized experience and education, these registered nurses recognize and prevent health effects from hazardous exposures and treat workers' injuries/illnesses in the plant. This person must industrial hygiene principles of operational controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment. In addition, this person must have knowledge of toxicology and epidemiology as related to the employees? in the facility.
Responsibilities: Wellness promotion and disease preventionProvide emergency treatment of occupational and non-occupational injuries/illness.Initiate and maintains surveillance programs.Facilitate return to work and ramp in programs.Coordination and training of medical emergency response team.Post offer and transfer physicals.Maintain medical records .Appraisal of the work environment for potential exposures. Identification of abnormalities.Description of the worker's response to the exposures. Documentation of the injury or illness.Other responsibilities as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: LPN /RN licensure in the state of WI.Minimum of two years experience in active nursing in the area of public health, clinic, or hospital.
Occupational Health experience preferred.Assist in administration of ADA, FMLA, and WC policies.Maintain facility compliance as applicable, with OSHA health and safety related standards.Must poses skills to work independently and as a team playerMust have excellent communication skills, computer skills, and interpersonal skills.
