Operations Lead – #01S5P
We are seeking a motivated Operations Lead. This position will be located in Evansville, IN and reporting to the Site Lead. The Operations Lead has leadership responsibility for the sites Agronomic Research Specialists, and is expected to get results through high personal proficiency, delegation of tasks, coordinating the work of others, developing/coaching others, developing the team and collaborating regionally to innovate and improve processes.The incumbent will maintain site responsibility partnerships to ensure efficient work flow and work load balancing. The Operations Lead is responsible for all day-to-day operations of a multifunctional research site. This individual iscritical to research implementation and will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge proprietary field research equipment, superior genetic material, and help drive yield testing programs. The successful candidate will need to beable to adapt quickly to changes in our business, courageously face new challenges and opportunities and leverage the talents, skills and resources of team members and peers. Key Responsibilities:Manages direct reports through motivation, recognition, leadership, and employee development and administration. Provides overall direction to the on site operations and implements site strategy in collaboration with the Site Lead and Site Leadership Team. Supports and helps track financial management activities such as budgeting, cost management, capital management, expense reporting, payroll tracking and DOA control. Drives operational improvements, metrics tracking and implementation of best practices through team members and along with peers. Ensure staff is trained in all ESH procedures, regulatory and compliance protocols, and business conduct protocols. Actively build relationships with landowners to identify and develop key testing locations. Represents and contribute to the site???s involvement to cultivate trust in the community. Participate in the hiring and supervision of program support staff. Administer the recruiting, training, development and retention of personnelQualifications: Required Skills:BS in Plant Breeding, Agronomy or related field of study. 5+ years of experience in an agricultural, manufacturing, engineering and/or technical environment. Demonstrated ability to lead people managers and their teams. Experience with farm equipment operation and repair. Results oriented leadership approach. Ability to make decisions and solve problems while exhibiting situational judgment. Strong computer skills related to data acquisition, organization, and data analysis.Desired Skills:MS in Plant Breeding, Agronomy or related field of study with 3-5+ years of significant people and project management. Experience in an agricultural-related research position. Experience in working and/or leading in a matrix environment. Experience in crop research testing capacity.
