Dairy and Crops Are you a proven overall Operations Manager level professional within the ag sector, with strong Dairy production and overall cropping background, looking for a great career opportunity to lead and manage a progressive minded ag business? We are seeking a very strong, “hands on” candidate that can thrive in a fast paced environment, with some history of dairy operations management, who understands and can motivate, mentor and drive production efficiencies while meeting long
short range goals, within the strategic plan and policy of the owners. Are you great at employee management and cow management and are passionate about the elite dairy cow world ? This is NOT an office job! Though this will require office hours, reporting structure and strong detail orientation and documentation levels for both production and financial reporting. Preference will be given to candidates with BS degree, and strong dairy with multiple cropping experience in operations management. You must have a proven record of supervising multiple department heads as well as experience in rotational grazing and facilities and industry technology. Strong morale client is seeking long term right hand person to manage this high priority location and operation. MUST come with strong references, recent proven performance, and ability to contact past supervisors/owners/CEOs. Qualified Applicants must meet these requirements: ? Bachelors Degree in Dairy Science and/or Ag Business Management or another related field required with MS Dairy Sci preferred ? 5-10+ years of operations management experience in an agriculture related production system required with Dairy background preferred ? Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Dairy production records, and overall farm maintenance programs ? Ability to teach, manage, motivate and coach employees effectively ? Excellent written and verbal communication skills ? Ability to hands on manage multiple departments on a daily basis ? Ability to be accessible 24/7 for issues that arise ? Great organizational skills and detail ? Equipment operation and strong cropping knowledge required ? Excellent problem-solving and ability to delegate tasks and empower employees to be successful and self-driven ? Ability to deal with a multitude of personalities ? Ability to travel as needed and represent our company at key industry events ? Good planning skills and work well under pressure ? Wide/deep industry knowledge and trends within the market ? Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
Major responsibilities include: ? Embrace and live the Mission Statement. Thrive within the Vision and overall company culture by example ? Work directly with Pres/CEO and BOD on strategic planning, goals
objectives, acquisitions, opportunities, marketing, etc ? Monitor activities and performance of each department ? Oversee and influence the work of department managers to ensure efficiency and productivity and build the necessary team culture ? Oversee the attainment of company goals in relation to production and efficiencies ? Manage and maintain all EPA and State required regulatory documents for location ? Review production numbers daily and plan production accordingly ? Maintain a safe work environment for all employees by taking corrective action immediately when a potentially unsafe condition is discovered ? Monitor and manage costs at each level of production on a daily basis with end goals in mind and set clear objectives ? Develop the knowledge and skills of the department managers and any other employees reporting directly to the Operations Manager ? Review and approve performance reviews for employees
