YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of an Operator Trainee are as follows:
Operate equipment for the production of finished active ingredients (chemical synthesis) in a production plant per Standard Operating Procedures;
Develop comprehensive knowledge of chemical processes in order to identify deviations and respond with corrective actions;
Accurately communicate important information to shift members and leadership both verbally, electronically and/or in written format;
Maintain inventories of disposable, production, and safety related materials;
Perform minor maintenance repairs;
Maintain excellent housekeeping and clean equipment as required;
Shift work including days, nights, weekends, and holidays is essential.
WHO YOU ARE
Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
High school diploma or equivalent;
Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift;
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and bend as well as climb ladders;
Must be able to work at elevated heights and in confined spaces;
Ability to read and act upon written operating procedures and instructions;
Ability to work with limited supervision in a team environment;
Demonstrated basic computer application experience (i.e. Word, Excel, email);
Ability to pass certification requirements, after training, including written assessments.
Experience working in an industrial manufacturing setting;
Knowledge of safe and environmentally-responsible operating procedures;
Experience with pumps, valves, compressors, hydraulics, distillation systems and heat exchangers;
Experience working with chemical compounds;
Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills;
Experience with computer-controlled manufacturing systems;
Certificate or Associates degree in science, technology or related field.
