Packaging Engineer – #01R3W
Bayer has an exciting opportunity for a Packaging Engineer to join the Packaging Team within the Product Supply organization. This position is located in St. Louis, MO, reporting to the Packaging Engineer Manager. The position will be responsible for the design and development of quality and innovative packaging systems in support of our business units. Candidates must be willing to work in a fast paced, leading edge environment. Key Responsibilities:Drive the design, development and implementation of packaging systems for existing products and new pipeline productsCreate and maintain packaging specifications and drawingsDefine technical parameters, prepare test plans and evaluate the packaging components insuring regulatory and quality compliance with industry standards (EPA, FIFRA, etc.) and company specific manufacturing process and management of change (MOC) processWork as a technical member of cross functional business teams and manage multiple projects to meet established timelines through team building and leadership and communicate project status with key stakeholders. Responsible for trouble shooting and problem solving of packaging issuesSupport Packaging Procurement team on supplier selection and supplier qualificationWork with Packaging Procurement team to identify viable packaging options and alternatives to support cost reduction and sustainability activitiesTravel: 20% domestic travel and potential international travel as requiredQualifications:Required Skills/Experience:Bachelor???s degree1+ years of experience in packaging engineeringGood project/time management skill and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, execute and deliver projects on time Must have strong problem solving skills and demonstrated ability in exercising independent judgment in sound decision making. Highly effective organizational, team, and communications skills (verbal and written), and the ability to work with a range of personnel effectively (operators, engineers, plant leadership) Desired Skills/Experience:Degree discipline in Packaging EngineeringWorking knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean tools and Visio/Mini-Tab softwareKnowledge of validation methods/equipment including: packaging stability, warehousing, distribution, customer interface, etc.Working knowledge of CAD or other packaging graphics design programsBayer successfully completed the acquisition of Monsanto in June 2018, bringing together Monsanto???s leadership in seeds and plant traits with Bayer???s leadership in chemical and biological crop protection.
