SUMMARYTo work inany packaging area and perform any job task required for maintaining the smoothoperation of the packaging lines. This position is responsible for keeping foodsurfaces and processing equipment and assigned work area in a food qualitysanitary condition. ThePackaging Sanitation is a member of the packaging team which consists of FrozenInspectors, Cold Room Laborers, Palletizers, Palletizing Attendants, ProductionLift Truck Operators, Packaging Operators, Packaging Area Coordinators andPackaging Mechanics. The individual in this position is accountable to theirassigned Packaging Supervisor and Shift Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES
Mustbe able to complete training on the safe operation of the power pallet jack andsuccessfully pass and maintain the certification test requirements. Thistraining and certification is a requirement in accordance with both WAC 296-307-52003and WAC 296-307-52029.
Bailingvarious packaging material.
Buildingand breaking down totes.
Cleaningfood contact surfaces, floors, framework and the environment of the assignedwork area.
FrozenInspector duties.
Ensures no injuries to self orothers by following safe work practices and procedures (including StandardOperating Procedures), and policies.
Ensures that chemical usage isrecorded on the Chemical Log.
Transports chemicals by hand cart toand from the chemical room in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensures that cleaning duties arecompleted on a regular basis.
Ensures periodic testing anddocumentation of foaming and sanitizing solution in central foaming tank.
Ensures the ability to assist withtraining in order to ensure the proper training of sanitation.
Ensures the completion andmaintenance of OSHA fork lift truck certificates.
Ensures attendance and participationin training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquiredskills and knowledge.
Ensures self-compliance with companypolicies.
Ensures that the interface with teammembers and other support groups is conducted in a participative managementstyle conducive with operational goals.
Ensuresthat chemicals are handled and used safely and efficiently.
Ensuresthat all task checklist items are completed and documented properly.
Performsall tote handling duties.
Performsall functions of the stripping duties as needed.
Performsall rework of product duties.
Performsall functions of assigned hand pack duties
Ensuresthat all finished product is inspected and packed according to Companyprocedures and standards.
Ensuresthat cleanup duties are performed in a food safe manner which meets Companystandards.
Performsall functions of the Frozen Inspector.
Ensuresability to fill case erectors on shift.
Ensuresknowledge of equipment and is able to turn equipment on and off by employingequipment lockout/tagout procedures as needed.
Ensuresthat attendance and participation in training activities are appropriate forthe position, and the acquired skills and knowledge are applied.
Ensuresthere is no injury to self or others by following safe work practices,procedures (including Standard Operating Procedures), and policies.
Ensuresself-compliance with Company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and theUnion Labor Agreement.
Ensuresthat the interaction with team members and other support groups is conducted ina participative management style conducive with operational goals.
Conductsoneself in a professional manner by ensuring confidentiality regardingsensitive issues and ensuring that appearance meets the standards necessary toperform the job function while representing the company.
Ensuresthat additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, are handledin a manner necessary to meet Operational and Divisional standards.
Ensuresthat areas are cleaned and stocked with the proper supplies in a safe, timelyand skillful manner in order to meet operational standards. The primary areasinclude the cold room, lab fryer area, Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 4, and thedry supply area. Additional Key Activities: Conductsoneself in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets thestandards necessary to perform the job function while representing the company. REQUIREMENTS
6+ months related experience.
Must have an acceptable safetyrecord.
Must have an acceptable attendancerecord.
Must be able to work independently,with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work day and nightshift (6am – 6pm / 6pm – 6am)
Mustbe able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs and ladders.
Mustbe able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.
Mustbe able to work in extreme environments: hot or cold temperatures and wet andslick floors.
Mustbe able to work with and around hazardous chemicals wearing appropriate PPE,includes but no limited to, full wetsuit, boots, chemical gloves and faceshield or goggles.
Mustbe able to read, understand, and communicate in a manner to successfullyperform the job duties.
Mustbe able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplicationand counting).
Mustbe able to tell time.
Mustbe able to distinguish colors.
Musthave manual dexterity in both hands.
Mustbe able to lift up to 50 pounds in a safe and proper manner.
Mustbe able to use up to 50 pounds of push/pull force needed to push/pull barrelsweighing up to 450 lbs using a rolling device ***Combination of education, training and/or experience willbe considered for this position.
