Paralegal, Contracts – Wayzata, MN
Position PurposePartners with businesses and functions on various contracts to meet business and customer objectives through drafting, analyzing and negotiation of various commercial agreements. Reviews new contract requests via online intake tool to assess assignment and assigns according to predesignated guidelines, expertise of the legal drafter, workload capacity and timelines on a global basis. Administers contract management tool to complete system changes, regularly run reports and create drafter and team snapshots of workload. Develops and maintains template agreements, playbooks and forms and provides contract system training. Builds strong working relationships and collaborates with Cargill business, takes the initiative to identify and addresses issues, adapts to change, and suggests and incorporates continuous process improvements to promote efficient tools and one-team environment.Principal Accountabilities?50% Exercises independent judgment in intake assignment of global contract requests from contracts system based on established guidelines, drafter expertise, workload capacity and timelines?20% Drafts concise contracts and reviews and negotiates various commercial agreements such as procurement, product supply, services, construction, consulting and confidentiality agreements?10%
Administers contract management system, working with supplier/vendor for system updates and upgrades. Responsible to run reports and create individual and team snapshots for data points based on contract requests for the Global Contracts Group and management. ?10% Conducts routine research, analysis and legal matter project management. ?10%
Develops, updates and posts standard templates and resource documents for the Global Contracts Group, provides system training for clients and addresses clients questions and comments. Skills:
Four-year college degree?
Paralegal certificate or comparable legal education from an accredited institution; or willingness to obtain paralegal certification?
Minimum of 2 years of experience focused on drafting, analyzing, and reviewing contracts?
Strong written and verbal communication skills? Ability to work independently and be self-motivated?
Proficient organizational and collaborations skills?
Promotes teamwork and satisfactory outcomes for clients and team members?
Ability to manage conflicting priorities, be solutions-oriented and build trust with others?
Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint?
