Primary Location: Estados Unidos (US) – Iowa (US-IA) – Waterloo Function: Manufacturing Engineering Title: Part-Time Student – Manufacturing Engineering – Waterloo, IA – 46347 Your ResponsibilitiesUtilized as a Manufacturing Engineer in the WAS Drivetrain Component area to support projects and current production needs by assisting in establishing and maintaining the machining processes and documentation.Primary responsibility of the machining equipment as well as the e-tools including but not limited to Process Maps, WPlanner, Excel, and AutoCAD.Perform duties comparable to the full time Industrial Engineering Staff after the successful completion of the new employee orientation as well as the appropriate training period.Become familiar with the current and new machining processes and personnel in the various areas of the factory as well as the key metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency and how they relate to the Deere Production System (DPS).Learn and become proficient in the IE/ME function and the tools including: Basic machining processes, Time-study and application of Standard Data, Process mapping, Work Planner (WPlanner – tool to document the manufacturing process), Routings, Continuous Improvement Pay Plan (CIPP – incentive system), Product Tracking, Product Build, Tooling, Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM), Continuous Improvement Processes, etc.Work on specific projects including but not limited to: Deere Production System, Continuous Improvement, and New Product Programs. What It TakesMicrosoft office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Highly organized and attentive to detail.Pursuing a four-year degree in Industrial/Engineering Technology or related field is preferred but not requiredMust be registered as a full-time student at a local universityMust be able to commute to the work location on a daily basisGraduation date of May 2020 or later Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above16 – 20 hours/week during the academic year35 – 40 hours/week during the summer semester A strong candidate will also haveAutoCad, Pro-Engineer, or other drafting or modeling programs.SAP knowledge and/or experience.Excel Macro.
