RIGHT NOW.Primary Location: United States (US) – Iowa (US-IA) – Waterloo Function: Manufacturing EngineeringTitle: Part-Time Student – Manufacturing Engineering – Waterloo, IA – 50646 Your ResponsibilitiesAssist engineers with work instruction creation and updates for current parts and new model parts.Assist with quality studies/investigations to include Gage R&R and capability studies.Review and coordinate CI projects: initiate work orders, follow-up with skilled trades and ME's, share information with operators.Prepare documentation (lock out/tag out labels, right to know labels) for newly installed machines.Coordinate Below the Hook Lifting Device (BHLD) procurement and modification.Place orders for tooling and ancillary equipment.Write various kinds of work orders and follow up on the work What It TakesDemonstrated ability to communicate and get along well with others.Use and knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems – class work can be considered for this.Pursuing a four-year degree in a technical field with engineering in the title.Must be registered as a full-time student at a local universityMust be able to commute to the work location on a daily basisGraduation date of May 2020 or later Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above16 – 20 hours/week during the academic year35 – 40 hours/week during the summer semester A strong candidate will also haveExperience with coding (no language in particular).Use of CAD software – preferably parametric What You'll GetAt John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go.
