Primary Location: United States (US) – Iowa (US-IA) – Waterloo Function: Manufacturing EngineeringTitle: Part-Time Student – Technology – Waterloo, IA – 40018 Your ResponsibilitiesGeneral responsibilities include supporting the PDP Manufacturing Engineers as needed. The PDP Testing and Programming group has multiple new product builds and introductions over the next 18 months, as well as a new manufacturing test tool development. The PDP Testing and Programming team specifically needs assistance with the following activities:Review and provide input to development of manufacturing test procedures.Wire harness and test hardware assembly and prove out.Verify tests that are under development and/or ready for production.Verify test result data analysis for accuracy and test limit improvements.Deploying shop floor test equipment to each test station.Support Safety / Environmental / Ergo reviews of area.Track issues during pre-production builds to complete with high quality, on schedule, and document improvement opportunities. What It TakesProficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Experience working in a team environmentOrganization and time management skillsPursuing a degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field (other majors may qualify). Would also consider Quality, Business, and Physics Majors.Must be registered as a full-time student at a local universityMust be able to commute to the work location on a daily basisGraduation date of December 2019 or later Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above16 – 20 hours/week during the academic year35 – 40 hours/week during the summer semester A strong candidate will also haveElectrical and/or software proficiencyRelevant work experience in manufacturing, construction, and/or an office environmentDemonstration of leadership skills and related experience What You'll GetAt John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go.
