RIGHT NOW.Primary Location: United States (US) – Iowa (US-IA) – Ames Function: Product EngineeringTitle: Part Time Student – Year Round Internship Engineering (Crop Care) – Ames, IA – 45443 Your ResponsibilitiesPart Time student position -Produces and/or evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance for tillage and application equipmentCreate design concepts using Creo (Pro/E) CAD software toolsTest and develop concepts in lab and field environments through effective team collaboration as well as hands on work with test and prototype equipmentEffectively communicate and work in a team environment with both direct team members and those in supporting organizations What It TakesStrong mechanical aptitudeEffective communication skills both oral and written3D modeling experience (Creo preferred) Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other standard computer software applicationsPursuing degree in mechanical , electrical, computer, or agricultural engineeringMust be registered as a full-time student at Iowa State UniversityMust be able to commute to the work location on a daily basisGraduation date of May 2019 or later Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above16 – 20 hours/week during the academic year40 hours/week during the summer semester A strong candidate will also haveKnowledge or work experience in production agricultureExperience in product engineering through product design and/or product testing What You'll GetAt John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go.
