Plant Engineer OPD

Overview:This position is responsible for managing facility engineering functions, coordination of plant projects Operations support, and CAPEX program.Bunge is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Minorities/Women/Veterans/DisabledEssential Functions:•  Provide general technical assistance to operations staff concerning the following: dry material handling, air flows, heat exchange, electricity and power, programmable logistical controllers (PLC), steam generation/use and liquid movement/storage  •  Responsible for all aspects project development and implementation by meeting project deadlines and within budgetary constraints•  Responsible for developing solid capital and expense project from inception to submitting project requests.•  Research and ensure that projects are in compliance with Federal and State environmental regulations.•  Manage, in conjunction with the corporate environmental department, current and future permitting issues with State and Federal environmental agencies•  Overall operations knowledge: By working to understand all aspects of production at this facility (soybean processing and oil refining) the Plant Engineer will demonstrate the requirement for cooperation and teamwork.•  In conjunction with the Crush Manager, Refinery Manager and Maintenance Manager, develop and implement projects which improve operating efficiencies•  Develop and maintain drawing and documentation standards.•  Ensure that the facility goal of no injuries is pursued by all employees•  Ensure Plant is compliant with all corporate policies and procedures•  Strive for continuous improvement that optimizes costs and efficiencies•  Demonstrate the following core values and guiding behaviors which are expected of all employees at Bunge North America: Integrity, Openness and Trust, Teamwork, Citizenship, and Entrepreneurship•  Has the responsibility to report all food safety and quality issues to persons having authority to get issues resolved •  Develop and execute Capital Projects from initial scope through final execution. Ensure timelines and budget constraints are met•  Manage contractors through shutdowns and high level maintenance activities•  Direct and evaluate the work of students or engineering  trainees that may be assigned to the facility •  Perform other duties as assigned•  Familiarity with NEC, NFPA and any electrical design standards•  Bachelor's degree in an engineering based degree required•  Minimum 5 years’ experience in plant operations, maintenance and safety is required•  Committed to personal safety, employee safety and the integrity of all physical assets•  Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint are necessary•  Ability to use drafting software, project management software and SAP business software is necessary•  Ability to manage, communicate and direct the work of employees and contractors•  Punctuality and accuracy are critical•  Ability to learn and apply new skills quickly is required•  Proficiency with Autocad and Navisworks•  Experience with PLC and HMI Programming, commissioning and troubleshooting across multiple platforms•  Ability to balance multiple projects•  Familiarity with Stage Gate Process for project execution•  Candidate must be friendly, collaborative, intelligent and hard working
