Plant Health and Discovery Co-op – #01RTH
Bayer Crop Sciences is seeking an enthusiastic, talented scientist to join the Plant Health Team in a research role supporting Plant Breeding and other R&D organizations in Bayer Crop Sciences. The selected scientist for this position will be based in St Louis, Missouri, and will take part of a short-term research project involving economically-important biotic and abiotic stresses. Additional experiences gained with this position include: Working cross-functionally between different teams in the R&D organization Coordinating experimental protocols between Plant Health and teams in Plant BreedingWorking in the field and in the lab on experimental implementationAnalysis and interpretation of experimental resultsReporting key findings to stakeholders Qualifications:Required Qualifications: Enrollment in a PhD program in applied Plant Pathology (with Plant Breeding background) or Plant Breeding/Genetics (with applied Plant Pathology background) or Agronomy or related fields (with practical backgrounds in both Plant Breeding and applied Plant Pathology), and with at least 3 years of experience in research projects.Strong domain knowledge and work experience in management of data science, plant breeding and genetics, plant pathology, crop production and/or agronomic requirements of row crops. Experience and skills with project management and communication of project results.Results-oriented personality and motivation to ask practical research questions focused on the Seed/Ag Industry and manage multiple simultaneous projects while delivering high quality results under strict deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and experience working with and influencing external teams in collaborative projects.
