Plant Manager B
Position PurposeStrategic & operational Overview of all processes at the Ogden, UT Plant. Ensure that areas of responsibilities meet BU/ Plant standards for safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance ? including emphasize on building culture and structure to support people management, process control & improvement, and continuous improvement, in close co-operation with central functional areas such as safety (EHS), quality (FSQR), formulation, engineering, logistics, planning and inventory control.Principal Accountabilities15% Production safety; create a culture for safety at the site ? with emphasize on housekeeping and good maintenance practices. Further description: Lead employee and food/feed safety program standards and goals for the plant. Accountable for all internal/external operating/regulatory procedures on employee safety and food/feed safety including strategic and tactical execution in alignment with Corporate Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory (FSQR) Functions as well as government regulations.
Collaborate with EHS/FSQR experts to ensure the most effective risk mitigation plans and regulatory compliance strategies are in place:-Health & Safety: champions a culture of zero injury and illness.-Environmental: Reduces and proactively avoids environmental impact and potential risk to the businesses.-Food Safety: Accountable for eliminating risks associated with products. Ensures HACCP/FDA requirements are metin all food and feed processes.-Educate/train workforce in the food safety fundamentals and completes safety inspections and housekeeping audits. Oversee EHS/FSQR incident data to identify risks and to act on risk mitigation strategies (i.e. safety index, RIFR, food safety index, CFSRA and FDA audits).
Lead tactical and strategic initiatives representing the business with external/internal regulatory authorities. Has overall accountability for maintaining good rapport with the local community and regulatory agencies.
Build and maintains community relations that align with Cargill?s corporate and business interests while addressing stakeholders/community needs. Represent Cargill in the local community serving as the primary spokesperson by directly responding to food safety, animal welfare and environmental affairs related topics.30% People Management; emphasizing efforts to build effective leadership team for the site and create pipeline for own position as well as other positions in the leadership team. Further description: Develop/supervise and provide coaching to Operations Managers/ Production Supervisors including coaching Cargill?s core values and guiding principles.
Oversee general workforce administration policies and programs in the areas of communications, staffing, training, evaluations, disciplinary actions and safety. Develop planning for future production workforce needs and participates in selection of employees.
Responsible for developing strong leaders and a less diverse workforce by seeking multiple approaches to source/attract diverse talent. Incorporates diversity in succession planning and job fulfillment.
Accountable for medium-term outlook workforce planning and accountable for successful training and on boarding of new/transferred employees as well as workforce engagement, recognition, development and coaching.
Lead and implements systems and processes to maintain a highly engaged workforce. Holds direct reports accountable for actively addressing engagement issues and identifies/leverages best practices in engagement.?25% Production quality; Build a team that use process improvement and CI tools in the daily work. Further description: Set and deploy operational priorities for the plant. Lead strategic and tactical operations/quality management deliverables to ensure customer and product/quality standards requirements are met within specifications.
Collaborate/partner with Logistics/Procurement/Sales/Supply Chain professionals to ensure availability of raw materials and ability to meet customer specifications and timelines. Ensure that customers are satisfied and that any inquiries, incidents and/or issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Develop and oversee implementation of performance metrics for capturing, monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of corporate quality management activities and programs at the plant level.
Partner with internal/external stakeholders (i.e. customers, Engineering, FSQR, Sales, Technology) to define, adopt and monitor performance indicators to identify/measure quality performance in areas that impact the customers and recommend areas of improvement and innovation.
Champion and leverage technology innovation by developing strategic operational plans and by coordinating execution. Partner with BU leadership and with Technology/Engineering departments to identify emerging trends and translate into long-medium term operational goals. Ensure Cargill Intellectual Property (IP) materials, processes and knowledge are protected and maintained.
Develop/support BU/Plant customer relationships by meeting businesses objectives and by understanding how operational performance impact internal/external customers.25% Production efficiency. Leading the development of the plant on medium and long-term productivity goals in line with the BU strategic plans. Further description: Responsible for overseeing the overall operational management of the plant. Implement operational efficiency improvements which may include, but are not limited to, standardization of plant information manufacturing systems, quality control, safety, production reliability excellence and maintenance, operators? best practices, etc.
Responsible for aligning overall team resources, with direct coordination/support from Operations Managers/ Production Supervisors to execute against medium-long term strategies and for meeting medium-term outlook strategic operations goals in accordance with BU/plant objectives.
