Plant Manager- Decatur, ILThis is an exempt level position The plant manager for the Decatur East Soy Plant location will be responsible for daily oversight as well as long term vision of operational strategies associated with plant production. This union facility has a workforce compromised of approximately 196 hourly and 112 salaried employees.
The skills necessary to be successful in this position include responsibilities such as: safety, quality assurance, environmental compliance, production, yield, cost management, capital disciplines and colleague development.
Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
Display a commitment, lead, participate and support ongoing safety including values based safety effortsDirect the operation of the plant which includes safety and environmental compliance, manufacturing quality products, production, cost optimization, yield and sustainabilityOversee performance development for all salaried colleagues at the facilityOversight for capital projects including budget and timingMaintaining positive community relationshipProvide solutions and promote teamwork amongst the various groups such as production, maintenance and engineering. A strong understanding of the process and the ability to implement change when necessaryExcellent communication skills to provide guidance and feedbackResults driven to provide support to achieve the goals established by the divisionThe ability to provide motivation to the direct reports and demonstrate leadership qualities to all plant personnelProblem solving and sound decision making are necessary to lead the plant based on facts and statistical dataBA/BS in engineering or related study is preferred5+ year?s production management experienceRelocation assistance is available with this position.
