Plant Operations Manager, Cargill Value Added Protein
The Cargill Value Added Protein (CVAP) combination brings together two high-performing businesses into an entity that has the potential to positively influence and create value for the foodservice industry and the Cargill enterprise. For stakeholders of both business units, this creates the opportunity to share expertise and enhance the value-added protein business segment together. CVAP is now organized into two Operating Units ? beef and poultry ? with 12 plants and 3,000 employees in the U.S. and Canada
This role is responsible for leading the operations team which includes receiving, production, and shipping at our Cargill Value Added Proteins ? Foodservice facility in Butler, Wisconsin, which is just ten miles north of Milwaukee.? This facility is one of the largest beef patty plants in Cargill with a diverse population of over 500 stakeholders originating from over six different countries. This operations team produces frozen and restructured beef products as safely and efficiently as possible while meeting all corporate, customer, and government requirements. This role also requires a high degree of collaboration with Maintenance/Engineering, FSQR, Finance, Continuous Improvement, and Human Resources to effectively serve our customers, employees, community, and the overall corporation.

30%?Safety: Champion safety processes, ergonomic efforts, and hold everyone accountable for keeping their co-workers safe.? Actively work to prevent/eliminate hazards that cause injury or illness.
30%?Operational Leadership: Ensure effective and efficient operations with a culture of continuous improvement.? Maintain the production practices that support the Food Safety program in the facility. Develop operational budgets and manage expenses accordingly.? Collaborate with other locations to ensure best practice sharing.? Active champion of our community outreach efforts. Be a visible presence in the community by active involvement, building networks, and understanding the needs and concerns of the community.

Minimum 5 years of leading teams in a labor intensive manufacturing environment (operations, maintenance, technical service, etc).
Strong communication (verbal and written) ? ability to get message across to a variety of audiences.
Strong people management skills ? ability to engage, empower, develop, and motivate a large workforce.
Strong presentation skills ? comfortable putting together presentations and talking to a variety of audiences.
Ability to work in a cold environment
Ability to work nights / weekends as needed
Ability to travel (varies but typical is 10%)??
Bachelor?s Degree in Science, Engineering, Business or related field.
Experience working with key customers.
Experience building a culture of teamwork, collaboration, accountability, and the empowerment of employees.
Meat processing and / or beef patty production experience.
