You will own your own work and find innovative ways to deliver on our vision of feeding the world responsibly while working along beside 15,000 people around the globe who care about you.Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, Plant Operatorsare responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant process equipment. This includes performing railcar and truck loading and offloading, startup, shutdown and general operation of pumps, screws, belts, tanks, valves, and other process equipment, conducting regular operational roundsto monitorequipment health, and performing some minor maintenance activities. Plant Operators are also responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by conducting hazard assessments, utilizing standard operating procedures to perform tasks, identifying and reporting hazards and near miss incidents, and understanding and complying with all company policies and procedures.Key Tasks:- Monitor/operate equipment and associated systems within standard operating conditions and limits.- Assist withstartup, shut down, and operation of processes and equipment from a field role.- Respond to and appropriately addresses process and equipmentupsets.- Identify possible or current operating problems and recommend action to resolve any deficiencies in rate, quality or mechanical operation.- Safe handling of dry products, nitric acid and liquid fertilizer while loading rail cars and trucks.- Maintain a clean work environment free from hazards.- Play a critical role not only ensuring your own safety, but also the safety of others. You will have direct accountability for ensuring familiarity and demonstrating the Commitment to Zero policy, leading with a safety mindset and modeling the 3 Safety Principles, modelling the 10 Tenets of Operation and having your own personal safety action plan.TheIdeal CandidateOutside of the skills and necessary qualifications, our ideal candidate must be committed to achieving superior results with integrity and sustaining our safe and positive work environment while having the ability to embrace working side by side others in a diverse culture.Skills:- Ability to read, understand and apply operating procedures.- Able to use computers for job functions and training.- Ability to excel in a team environment.- Possess mechanical/process troubleshooting and analytical skills.- Must be committed to working in a highly safety-conscious environment. Qualifications- A high school diploma or GED is required.- Prior experience in an industrial setting is desirable.
