Poultry Production Supervisor (HS-8060)

QUALIFICATIONS: – Associates Degree in an Ag-Related field (Preferred) OR 5+ years experience in the Poultry Industry- 3+ years experience in poultry production- 2+ years experience in a supervisory leadership position- Basic Preventative Maintenance experience preferred- Ability to read, write and speak English required- Demonstrated ability to hire, train, motivate and retain a talented workforce- Experience providing effective coaching, mentoring, and discipline- Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and measure results- Strong interpersonal and communication skills- Highly team-oriented with a positive “Can-Do” attitude- Ability and willingness to learn related positions and provide support where needed- Knowledge of general industry safety standards- General understanding of electrical and mechanical devices with good trouble-shooting skills- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities- Ability to utilize windows-based computer programs and systems- Ability to interact with a diverse workforce (ethnic and socio-economic)- Ability to walk, stand, climb ladders and stairs, work from heights, lift and carry up to 50 lbs and wear personal protective equipment- Must be able to wear a half-face respirator.- Working conditions are typically 68 – 100 degrees F, indoors and outdoors and in any weather- Ability to work some weekends, holidays, evenings, nights and/or extended shifts JOB DESCRIPTION: – Commit to the company's industry-leading animal welfare practices and standards- Supervise daily operations of the production staff- Monitor the completion and accuracy of daily chore sheet- Monitor the environmental controls of barns and complex, implement actions to correct concerns- Monitor equipment to ensure optimal operation and direct preventative maintenance program- Ensure effective safety practices are followed by all employees at all times- Provide weekly production reports to Sr. Production Supervisor- Immediately notify Sr. Production Supervisor of any Feed Outages- Assist with Animal Welfare programs and documentation as required for audits purposes- Serve On-Call for 24 hour alarm calls and implement corrective action to correct them- Work with Sr. Production Supervisor to prepare and adhere to annual budget- Ensure all production department employees complete thorough job and safety training- Assist Sr. Production Supervisor in providing progressive discipline and corrective action- Assist Sr. Production Supervisor with completing performance evaluations for hourly employees- Other duties as assigned.
