Pre-Commercial Seed Processing Coordinator

The Pre-Commercial Seed Processing Coordinator will support pre-commercial plant operations, warehouse activities and various personnel ensuring that the best quality of seed is produced and processed for the Company. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Support the overall quality, efficiencies of production flow, on floor operations and personnel.Ensure quality standards are met or exceeded.Update and maintain SOPs.Assist in root cause analysis including quality and purity issues.Support inventory and storage area ensuring all inventory transactions and shipments are accurate.Maintain records and document necessary information as required by your supervisor and SOP s.Ensure seed splitting and package accuracy and quality standards are met or exceeded meeting communicated timelines.Operate all seed processing equipment as needed from the initial receiving of incoming product from the fields through packaging of the finished product including: cleaning equipment, gravity tables, sizing, rotary s, dryers, coloring and chemical application equipment, and packaging.Work effectively with minimal direction from Supervisor.Works with Supervisor and other departments to assure quality needs are met or exceeded.Train and lead processing crews in seed processing functions, make decisions in the supervisor s absence and take ownership for the product produced.Wear required Personal Productive Equipment as needed.Work rotating shifts as neededCross-train in other positions to meet business demands.Develop and maintain respectful working relationships with all departments.Ensure Company handbook, Rules, Guidelines and Procedures and safety policies are followed and personal protective equipment is used correctly.Occasionally travel and/or drive and/or operate forklift on behalf of the business.Meet attendance requirements.Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:2 + years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience in agriculture or similar field.Demonstrated strong team leadership, communication, organizational and training skills.Strong computer skills.Valid driver s license.Able to become forklift certified.High school diploma or equivalent. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:BS in agriculture or similar field.General working and mechanical knowledgeAbility to use multiple inventory/warehousing/shipping system programs WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Must wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as needed. Work in high and precarious places and able to cover multiple areas including staircases safely and quickly. Able to work in varied environmental conditions (loud, hot, cold, dusty, damp, etc.). Flexibility to work rotating shifts as needed (including weekend, night shift, and holidays). Ability to work individually and within a team setting.
