Prep Room Lead (FG – North Charleroi, PA)

We currently have a position available at our manufacturing facility in North Charleroi Plant – North Charleroi, PA. Charleroi is a borough in Washington County by the Monongahela River, 21 miles south of Pittsburgh. SUMMARYThe individual in this position will oversee the prep room and mixing station duties as organized, efficient process necessary to meet daily production quotas while adhering to organizational standards; meeting or exceeding all governmental, GMP and customer expectations with minimal rework and /or loss, and ensuring no injury to self or others by following safe work practices and policies. The Prep Room Lead takes personal responsibility for decisions, actions and failures, deals comfortably with uncertainty and change, and works cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES- Communicates with and leads their teams to ensure plant operations attain required volume, ingredient usage, quality, and cost control and delegates and directs tasks to complete all work and rework in a timely and organized process.- Responsible for the monitoring and enforcement of GMP's, food safety, sanitation, line cleanliness and quality performance necessary to meet operational and regulatory standards and leads their teams in their obtainment.- Ensures no injury to self or others by being attentive to their surroundings, ensuring safe operation of equipment and following safe work practices and policies, including proper LOTO.- Preparation/set up of all prep room and mixing equipment daily- Ensure their area is properly staffed to meet operational standards.- Tends to operating machinery, starting and stopping, observing functions of machines and materials, supervises and leads team to control activity and work procedures.- Prepares and maintains accurate records and documentation needed for record keeping that reflect daily production, materials used and materials returned. Have an understanding and working proficiency of the inventory procedures (CARDEX) relevant to their part of the operation and the ability to perform to those procedures as well as to self-audit, recognize and correct errors and understand the importance of this to the operational success of the company.- Insure that all frozen product and nonperishable items (i.e. cartons, boxes, film, etc.) are covered, closed, wrapped and neatly stacked on pallets and correctly tagged and returned to their proper locations.- Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge.- Ensures interface with team members and other support groups are conducted in a participative management style conducive with the operational goals of the company.- Conducts oneself in a professional manner and ensures appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job functions while representing the company.- Ensures that additional accountabilities as may be required by management be handled in a manner necessary to meet operational standards. REQUIREMENTSOther information:High school diploma or equivalent. 1 year similar experience. Ability to effectively respond to change. Tends operating machinery, starting and stopping, observing functions of machines and materials, supervises and leads team to control activity and work procedures. The ability to lift and move 50lbs plus. May be exposed to wet or humid conditions. May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. May be exposed to high noise environments. May be exposed to chemicals used in the process. Will be in temperatures of -5 degrees.
