Process Engineer – Refining Technologies (Overland Park, KS)
Position located in Overland Park, KS Job Description: Improve DuPont's customers' profitability, environmental footprint and safety record by providing quality process engineering and consulting for STRATCO?? Alkylation technology and/or IsoTherming??? hydroprocessing technology. Continuously improve DuPont's knowledge, products, services and procedures. As a member of a project team, the process engineer is expected to network, coordinate and collaborate with other team members, including engineering contractors, to provide high quality deliverables at each phase of the project. Receive guidance from experienced engineering consultants and direct mentors. Essential Job Functions:Process EngineeringDevelop process engineering deliverables for grassroots alkylation and hydroprocessing design packagesComputer simulations (HYSYS or equivalent)Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)Heat and Material BalancesHydraulicsInstrumentation and Control StrategiesAssist with alkylation and hydroprocessing revamp designsAttend project-related meetingsProject kick-off meetingsPFD, P&ID reviewsHazard and Operability (HAZOP) reviewsSafety Interlock (SIL) reviews3D Model reviewsPerform quality reviews of process engineering deliverables Technical Service SupportAssist with alkylation and hydroprocessing technical service field support activitiesUnit startupsTrouble-shootingTest runsOptimization studies (TEAM studies or unit audits)Operator trainingProvide support for customer???s technical questionsQualifications:Qualifications:To successfully perform the essential functions of the Process Engineer position, the candidate must possess: BS in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university2 to 5 years of petroleum refining process design, unit engineering and/or operations experience are highly desirable.Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in hydroprocessing and/or alkylation.The candidate must be customer oriented, well organized, computer literate with simulation experience, and possess strong technical capability and good oral and written communication skills. Travel requirement:This position spends up to 25% of the time traveling nationally and internationally.
