Process/Manufacturing Technology Engineer

The Manufacturing Technology Process Engineer will provide day-to-day technical expertise and technical support for the processes at the site. The successful candidate will join an integrated team including process chemical and mechanical engineers. The responsibilities of the position includes solution of process problems, identifying and implementing process improvements, and leading teams and/or projects for longer-term improvements. Detailed responsibilities include:Providing technical expertise for the chemical processes at the site.Providing technical support to the operations team as required.Leading or participating on teams to upgrade unit processes and products ranging from incremental improvements to major technology changes.Mentoring and assisting in operations training.Leading/participating in PSM Technology element teams and Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) teams.Executing the change management processes to execute improvements. (Process change requests, Change of design, Raw material qualifications).Monitoring of quality standards for raw material, intermediates, product, and chemicals.Leading or serving on project teams to drive continuous improvement working on areas such as yield, uptime, fixed and variable cost reductions, and working capital reductions.Qualifications:BS in Chemical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program preferred.Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher preferred.1-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a chemical manufacturing process/plant. Ability to work with others involved in a variety of functions including operators, mechanics, engineers of various disciplines, and management to positively impact plant performance parameters. Preferred Attributes: Broad-based knowledge of polymer process engineering; including chemical reactors, distillation, heat transfer, mass transfer, reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, filtration, and solids handlingExperience with Process Safety Management system requirements, pressure relief design, root cause failure analysis.Capability in batch and continuous processes with recycle loopsAbility to assimilate the unit operation information into actions that impact important criteria including process safety, ingredient yield, cycle time, product quality, and capacity.Knowledge of process modeling (Aspen)Familiarity with PHA (Process Hazards Analysis), a team member or leader.Apply for this job.
