Product Data Management Specialist/Trainer
SUMMARY:The R&D Specialist will be responsible for effectively and accurately assisting Business Unit management and R&D technologists in creating required components for effective product packaging execution, for new and existing products. The R&D Specialist will also have responsibility for accurately guiding Business Operations and Food Safety and Quality Assurance in regulatory endeavors and critical compliance situations. The R&D Specialist collaborates with Business Unit management to determine strategic direction for future packaging initiatives that involve high-risk consumer claims. Additionally they will provide technical support to R &D technologist, Business Unit management, and FSQA in their specific area of expertise. The individual in this role must effectively manage the interface of legacy systems, in order to quickly respond to system errors. The R&D Specialist must have the ability to quickly respond to challenging situations and provide solutions to expeditiously deliver products to market.REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience with USDA/FSIS label approval process a plus. Proficient algebraic knowledge to complete documentation for regulatory compliance, and provide necessary guidance for packaging claims. Organization of critical data through specific Product Data Management (PDM) workflows, critical thinking around formulations, and product processing requirements is necessary to ensure operational and regulatory compliance are met. Demonstrates effectiveness in providing regulatory guidance that will lead to opportunities in innovation, growth, and profitability.EDUCATION: Requires broad knowledge in a particular field normally acquired through two years of college or vocational or technical school training, resulting in an Associate degree or equivalent. Preferred Bachelors or Masters; Business; Science; Education.Experience: 3+ years' work experience in Research & Development or a Bachelor's Degree in related science area of study.Computer Skills: Requires intermediate ability/knowledge in Excel, SAP, and web-based discipline specific systems.Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills required. Must have the ability to communicate with functional and business unit management.SPECIAL SKILLS (if applicable): Critical thinking and problem solving skills required.
