Florham Park, NJWhere the Chemistry HappensWe are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for the strategic and operational portfolio management of several key Specialty Amines products within the Strategic Business Unit CIA in the Operating Division Intermediates in North America. The business is expected to grow significantly, at above market growth rates over the next years. It is supported by North American production in the Geismar, LA site as well as imported products. In this role, you will ensure optimum utilization of the production assets to achieve profitability and strategic targets.You will also support investment projects through developing the requisite marketing plans, seeking senior management approval and ensuring commercially successful startup of the new assets. You will also be accountable for achieving the regional targets outlined in the strategy for a complex portfolio comprising approximately 40 products. This includes financial performance (P&L), pricing, customer/product portfolio management, working capital plans, and fixed cost optimization. This requires close collaboration with global & regional marketing colleagues to develop, shape and implement marketing strategies. You will interact with and steer colleagues in Europe, Asia, and South America as those regions serve as part of the relevant sales force for products produced in North America. In addition, you will be a key interface to the organization?s functional resources (production, supply chain, sales, marketing, controlling, innovation, procurement, technical, regulatory, etc.) as well as other Business Units.Formula for Success Thinking strategically, you will manage the product portfolio such that it earns a premium on the cost of capital.  Additionally, you will develop plans for investment projects to support market growth/ strategy.Your solid business and financial acumen, as well as analytical and problem-solving skills, will serve you well in this role as you own responsibility for product pricing and margin management; i.e. pricing strategy, applied pricing models, costs analysis, financial forecasting (including budget planning).Your deep knowledge of value chains in markets served by the chemical industry will aid you in understanding the regional market structure?s economics, growth, trends, opportunities, value chain, customers and competitive environment.Leveraging your education in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry or closely related field and industry experience, of which 3 years should be in Marketing, Sales or Product Management, you will develop, implement, and manage regional commercial strategies for product portfolio; i.e. product positioning and business plan development and execution.Your excellent interpersonal communication skills, including: negotiation, influencing, presentation, reporting, and relationship building will be essential as you guide the sales force relative to product pricing and positioning, contract negotiations, competitive/market information, crisis management, customer/product action plans, and customer communications to align with the business/product strategies.Focused on increasing efficiency, you will actively drive continuous improvements of cost, production, quality, supply chain, and service levels focused on competitiveness, financial performance, and operational excellence.Demonstrating your strong skills relative to project coordination, time management, multi-tasking, and delivering on commitments, you will work to manage the product portfolio, including launch, repositioning, quality, packaging, management of change, and withdrawal.  You will also support innovation process for the product portfolio.Effectively collaborating across the organization, you will work with the Customer Care, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, R&D, and Regulatory organizations to successfully deliver business plan targets.  You will also coordinate with Supply Chain to achieve operational strategies relative to demand planning, product allocation, and inventory management.Working and interacting in a cross-cultural environment, you will represent the business unit with the organization?s Global Marketing unit to define marketing strategies and support growth of the business across all regions.Your strong organizational skills will be a valued asset as you follow up on new leads and opportunities, prioritize projects and commercialize projects to bring new sales each year.Using your solid understanding of supply chain principles and systems, you will actively handle the distribution network, including identifying and selecting the right distribution partners, financial target setting, training and technical service as needed to help them succeed.Create Your Own Chemistry: What We Offer YouAdding value to our customers begins with adding value to you.
