SUMMARYThe Production Helper isprimarily responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment throughoutthe production/ materials plant areas at all times. This individual assistsproduction operators with cleaning and preparing equipment to be repaired, andclearing stairs and walkways from debris. A successful incumbent will learnabout plant activities and purposes in order to advance to an operatorposition. RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for cleaning up any spilled product throughout the plant; uses abroom to sweep product from stairs, loading areas, and under plant equipment;moves large spills to designated bins or hoppers using front-end loader. Clears debris from dryer feed chutes bylifting and using downward force on a metal rod or scraper as needed. Empties and cleans hoppers daily and asneeded. Responsible for assigned cleanup projects whenequipment is down including, but not limited to scrubbers, sprayers, etc. Prepares equipment to be repaired by looseningdried product with a sledge hammer and cleaning area; advises operators on outof specification equipment found. Assists operators with lock out/tag outprocedures, makes list of all tools needed for maintenance jobs, and advisessupervisors of any special procedures such as confined space entry necessaryfor repairs. Performs preventative inspections of forkliftsand front-end loaders to include, but not limited to visual checks, checkingand adjusting fluid levels, and ensuring that all safety items (seat belt,horn, lights) are working properly; reports defects to ProductionSupervisor. Responsible for miscellaneous assignments toinclude, but not limited to shoveling in assigned areas, patching minor holesin equipment, assisting with spotting and/or unloading railcars as needed.Maintains a safe working environment bycomplying with all rules and regulations, and continuously practices safetywhile performing duties. Required to operate a front-end loader,fork-lift, and/or other motorized equipment.

Must be organized and able to manage multipletasks and priorities.Must be a team player; demonstrates a strongwork ethic and punctuality. Must have the ability to approach others in atactful manner, and be accurate and thorough.May be required to work overtime, 12-hourshifts, rotating weekends, holidays, and / or varying shifts. Distinguishing Features: This job requires the ability to workrotating shifts in excess of eight hours per day to include weekends andoff-duty hours to reach operational goals and compliance requirements in aplant that operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. This individual musthave the ability to operate a forklift, front-end loader, and other motorizedvehicles as needed. The Production Helper will climb stairs, climb ladders,bend, stoop, reach, lift, grip, push, pull, move and/or carry equipment thatmay be in excess of 50 pounds. This job requires the ability to sit for longperiods of time while operating fork lifts, front-end loaders, etc; required toshovel, lift overhead materials in excess of 50 pounds and use repetitivemotions frequently. In order to perform the duties of this job, the incumbentmay be required to walk in excess of 500 yards to reach equipment/areas acrossthe facility.Working in this plant operations environment requires the use of safetyequipment to include, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protectors,work boots, hard hat, face shields, respiratory protective equipment anduniforms. The incumbent may be subject to variations in noise levels andtemperature changes due to weather conditions. While performing the duties ofthis job, this individual is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts,fumes, airborne particles, toxic and/or caustic chemicals. Loose fittingclothing and open-toe/heel shoes are not permitted.Combination of education, training and/or experience will beconsidered for this position.Hourly Pay:
