Production manager ? Erlanger, KYADM NutritionThis is an exempt level position. MAIN FUNCTION: This is a leadership position with authority and responsibility for all operations on a shift basis.
The Erlanger facility is a manufacturing site producing flavors, colors, nutraceutical, energy, and savory blends.
The facility has the following manufacturing capabilities: dry blending, spray drying, liquid compounding and processing, homogenization, colors both liquid and dry, pressure reactions and savory flavors which involves the handling of raw meats, there is USDA presence in the plant.
This is a non-union facility with a workforce of approximately 3salaried supervisors and 50 hourly employees. The facility operates primarily on a 24 hour 5 day week operation however during peak period?s weekend production and maintenance will be done. The skills necessary to be successful include an understanding of
batch processing, the ability to lead and manage plant priorities in areas including plant and personnel safety, administration of all corporate and plant policies, product quality, environmental compliance, production, cost management, and colleague development for your shift.
The successful candidate will have the responsibility to oversee the daily operations of their shift and have a vision to ensure the continued success of the facility.KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

This is accomplished by leading and engaging the plant to achieve goals and by creating and implementing an organized approach to execute on planned and prioritized activities.
MAIN DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:
Display a commitment to lead, participate and support ongoing safety including value based safety efforts.Direct the daily shift operation of the facilities which include safety and environmental compliance, food safety, quality control, labor relations, production, cost optimization, sustainability, inventory, shipping and receiving.
Understanding of all operations, rules, regulations, policies and have the ability to communicate those requirements effectively to the plant workforce.Manage performance development for all colleagues under your leadership.Effectively use communication channels for proper coordination to provide solutions and promote teamwork among various groups such as production, quality, maintenance, engineering, inventory, R&D, and shipping & receiving.Facilitate manufacturing costs.Maintains effective performance under pressure; handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the organization.Fully understands the flow of all processes and equipment in all departments including the AS400.Ensure ISO 9001 WI?s, ISO 22000 and HACCP procedures are up to date, Training sessions held and all WI?s and procedures are followed by all reports.Perform other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Bachelor?s degree in Food Science (or equivalent experience/background) supplemented with a minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience in food/flavor/ingredients manufacturing with a strong understanding of food processing.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. The ability to manage effectively within a team based work environment with superior verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
The candidate must have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and employee development with demonstrated leadership and motivational skills.
Individual must be committed to corporate ethics policies & safety programs. Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast-paced work environment and results driven to provide support and achieve goals established by the division.
Proven ability to assess business and financial risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
