Come join us on our journey to create solutions for a sustainable future Where the Chemistry Happens  The BASF Sparks, Georgia Site, a leading producer of agricultural chemicals including fungicides and insecticides, is a key manufacturing site in our Agricultural Solutions Division.  Shift Supervisor (1602903) You will be a member of the Site Extended Leadership Team and responsible for providing direction and supervision to employees to ensure safe, high quality, and efficient operations to meet the production plan. You are the first line contact with hourly employees in regards to conflict resolution, skill development, and adherence to all functions including safety, environmental, quality, and productivity and to ensure efficient process operations with budget cost.  Formula for Success: You Will Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with all BASF and OSHA safety policies/requirements.Ensure equipment is operated in compliance with all environmental regulations/permits.Develop a high performance team through effective employee development, performance management, coaching, and training. Ensure shift safely meets the production plan.  Ensure productivity is at budgeted levels, troubleshoot operational problems and proactively pursue improvements.Develop and maintain high housekeeping and performance standards.Participate as Member of the Site Emergency Response Team.Participate/lead and document AIMS and NCM investigations.Create work orders and work with maintenance to accomplish repairs/modifications to meet production schedule.Issue Safe Work Permits, assess hazards and risks associated with the equipment to be repaired.Manage other specific assignments, projects, and/or responsibilities as assigned by Production Manager.Your Leadership Core Responsibilities will include:  Coach and develop team members to reach their full potentialSupport of development assignments and movement of talent across unitsMotivate and challenge to drive high performanceCommit to “hiring the best” internally and externallyCreate an inclusive environment which embraces and derives value from diversityExecute performance and career development discussionsServe as role model and enable development of competencies in others needed to implement BASF strategyCreate Your Own Chemistry: What We Offer You  Adding value to our customers begins with adding value to you. Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You  Bachelor s degree and 4 years manufacturing experience, Or High School diploma and 7 years manufacturing experience.Two or more years of supervisory or leadership experience necessary for motivating employees.Must be a proactive self-starter capable of working with limited supervision.Good problem solving skills with ability to quickly address and resolve problems.Good verbal and written communication and the ability to develop and document operating procedures.Computer skills experience with Microsoft word and excel.This is a 24-hour operation 7 days a week. Candidates must be willing and able to work a rotating shift.   Preferred:Experience working in a Plant with good working knowledge of mixing, milling, batching, instrumentation and other plant equipment, as well as considerable understanding of inventory control.SAP experience a plus.Leadership Expectations: As a leader at BASF, you will play a key role in creating value for the company through people.
