Production Supervisor

Position Purpose & Summary

This position within the Salt BU supervises and develops direct reports, leads safety and process efficiency initiatives, training and site capital and expense projects. The position implements and executes all production processes within and supporting a multiple effect evaporation process including a natural gas boiler and drying system, ensuring areas of responsibilities meet BU/Plant standards for safety, quality, efficiency and financial performance.

This position works closely with the location?s supervisors and superintendents, departments, EHS managers, QA department, office personnel and plant management to achieve goals set by the BU/plant.

Principal Accountabilities
?
25%?? Direct supervision of daily operations of assigned areas to achieve safe operation and production throughput requirements including managing work flow, job assignments, scheduling, shift coverage, emergency failures, addressing safety concerns, etc.
?
20%?Coach, train and provide management support to production employees to achieve their individual, department and location?s goals
?
20%?? Ownership of department maintenance back log. Weekly scheduling of planned work, work identification, shutdown planning, etc.?
?
20%?Develop and implementation of capital and expenses related projects that support location goals, daily management of contractors on-site executing expense or capital related projects, ownership of operating budget for department, executes purchase orders and ensures timely payment of invoices, and accountable for compliance with department non-base capital investment plans.

15%?Lead continuous improvement efforts for the department associated with safety, reliability, food safety, etc. as identified thru business initiatives, completing root cause analysis, etc.Skills:
Required
Bachelors degree or higher with 2 or more years of proven experience leading, mentoring, developing and or influencing high performance teams in a manufacturing/production environment OR in lieu of degree a minimum of 6 or more years of experience with 2 more or years of proven experience leading, mentoring and or influencing high performance teams in a manufacturing/production environment.

System thinker with strong continuous improvement mindset?Preferred
4 year Engineering Degree.
Proven success in EHS (Environment, Health & Safety).
Operations Leadership experience.
Project management and equipment installation experience.
Experience with all types of salt processing equipment (pumps & piping systems, material conveyance equipment, evaporation or refining processes, automation, packaging equipment, etc.).
Working knowledge of SAP, Maximo, Microsoft Office, and Windows; and capacity to learn new computer systems.
Mechanical aptitude demonstrated in previous roles
