Production Supervisor 1st Shift
The key responsibilities of this position are to work with a team to provide leadership and support for all aspects of assigned departments operations. This role also includes ensuring safety, environmental, food safety, quality, engagement, and production goals & needs for the department are met. These objectives will be met through the execution of corporate, divisional, local and departmental systems and processes. This individual must excel at communications; provide candid concise feedback on performance and other issues to technicians and management personnel. Additionally, this individual will train new technicians and engineers/managers, assist in business plan development, manage and develop budgets, and participate in departmental improvement and optimization.? The role will also include development, analysis, interpretation, and utilization of data and information to identify and resolve customer, quality, production, and cost related issues. Finally, this individual will work with on-site peer group to ensure that facility needs are met and consistency is maintained between departments.
Principal Accountabilities30% – Ensure that departmental production goals are met. This is achieved through tracking and communicating measures as well as troubleshooting and resolving root cause issues that cause us to miss our goals.
?20% – Manage, track, and provide feedback on personnel performance within the department. Work with other departmental managers to ensure work standards, knowledge, and behavioral standards are where they need to be within the department. This also ties directly to supporting and implementing employee engagement activities. Set job expectations through the use of various tools such as daily notes, monthly reports, performance feedback, etc.15% – Process optimization and improvement leveraging business best practices and standards.? Develop processes that allow for the optimal use of resources for the benefit of the department, plant, and business unit.10% – Ensure that health and safety, food safety, and environmental compliance goals and standards are being achieved. Work with the other department managers, safety representatives, and site environmental team to achieve these goals.10% – Participate in departmental management activities including but not limited to Business Plan development, budget development and adherence, weekend on-call, backup for department team leader, RCA's, special assignments, etc.10% – Focus on site needs. Participate in on-site peer group team to ensure that adequate communications take place and consistency exists between departments. Participate in site initiatives and incident investigation and follow up as required to ensure the safety and smooth operation of the facility.5% – Participate in professional development activities.?Skills:
?Required:Minimum of one year plant
experience?and a 4-year related college degree (engineering/sciences).Basic knowledge of EHS, Food
Safety, and Performance Management systems.Demonstrated troubleshooting
