Position PurposeThe Supervisor II position will manage the operations and projects of the Charlotte Oil Packaging facility with minimal direction or follow up from the plant superintendent, including EHS, production, quality, food safety, and costs . ?This role will allow the individual selected to gain experience in management activities and development of strategic actions to achieve midterm (0-6month) goals. ?This role will participate directly or indirectly in HR training and supervisory review of employees? performance and recordkeeping. ?Supervisor II responsibility is split between efficient day-to-day activities and 1-6 month planning activities. Job duties include: daily safety, food safety, environmental, quality, maintenance and reliability management in a highly dynamic environment driven by safety, customer satisfaction and financial results.Principal Accountabilities?50% Day to Day Production Management both directly and through production supervisors, including Hiring, Performance Management, Payroll, Discipline, Coaching/Development. ?Lead/Delegate Tasks to Functional Teams for Completion of Action Items to improve production practices and resolve issues. ?Production Planning, Resource prioritization, Shedule Downtime, Enforce Cargill/DSO policies and procedures. ?Production Exception Management, Manage through Quality issues, Schedule changes, Safety Incidents, Maintenance Prioritization, Operational Effectiveness, Cost Management, customer requests, and test runs. ?Drive continuous improvement across Operations. ?Oversee through the PPE the Top 3 downtime initiatives and help develop action plans.30% Investigate, design, write and complete small and medium sized capital and expense jobs individually and through production supervisors(typically <$500K)10% Assist/Train production supervisors in troubleshooting, problem solving and optimization activities?10% Perform misc job-related duties as assigned by direct supervisor.If selected for an interview, you will be required to submit signed copies of your last two performance reviews. ?(A completed e-PMP is considered a signed copy.)Skills: Essential Functions/RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, climb ladders, enter confined spaces, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. ?The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. ?Performs computer keyboarding on a regular basis. ?The employee must be able to work 8-10 hour shifts routinely and on occasion up to 12 hour days. ?Occasional week-end schedules are possible although not routine. ?While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have occasional exposure to weather conditions. ?Must be able to wear personal protective equipment- hard hat, eye protection, hearing protection, and steel toed boots. ?The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. ?Must have the ability to travel, normally 5% or less.Required? Bachelors Degree in any field (engineering preferred) and a minimum of 3 years production leadership experience to include project management and direct supervision. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal functions (maintenance, Refinery, FSQR, logistics, accounting), contractors, suppliers, auditors and customers. Demonstrated high level of problem solving. Demonstrated ability to develop employee accountability and engagement. Demonstrated ability to execute ?tasks. Proven performance and ability to apply policies and procedures in the areas of safety, environment, health and food safety. Demonstrated ability to appropriately set priorities. Practiced knowledge of production management with ability to develop understanding of plant processes and operational needs ?Preferred? Minimum 3 years vegetable oil processing experience. Minimum 5 years supervisory experience. Experience managing capital projects. Experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement activities. Team player, respectful and able to work independently or reach out for assistance when necessary. Prior Experience directly managing medium size teams of 10 or more. Demonstrated experience of challenging status quo and driving/leading positive changes within organization.? Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities to meet plant expectations and strategic objectives concurrently Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels of the organization Ability to adhere to Cargill?s values and ethics
